The final review of the EOPEN project was held online on December 3, 2020. The team presented the overall achievements of the project as well as the synergies with other H2020 projects, and received really positive feedback from the project officer and the reviewer. Unfortunately due to the pandemic situation, the team did not have the chance to travel and conclude the project in person, but here is a nice screenshot of the teleconference :)
An additional Use Case has been implemented as a synergy of the H2020 projects EOPEN and MOSES. Visit now the PUC webpage and watch the video: https://eopen-project.eu/puc/

EOPEN’s CERTH-ITI MKLab participates and contributes actively in the Security Research Rapid Response Platform and the efforts to combat COVID19 by developing a web-based application to monitor, analyse and visualise social media posts related to the Coronavirus pandemic, exploiting the technologies that have been implemented in the EOPEN project. The Social Media Visualisation Tool focuses on the region of Italy, collecting tweets with the hashtags #covid19Italy and #covid19italia, geo-localising them, and extracting visual concepts from their images. The outcomes of the analysis are propagated and visualised to a user-friendly and interactive interface, facilitating civil protection authorities and other stakeholders from the health sector to monitor and extract valuable and actionable information concerning the evolution of COVID19 outbreak.
